Dr. Alicia Oakley

Dr. Alicia Oakley earned a Bachelors degree in Science in 2002 at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California and graduated from the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a one year internship at the Animal Surgical and Emergency Center in Los Angeles following graduation. She has worked in the Veterinary field, prior to obtaining her DVM, as a Veterinary Technician and provided management support specializing in client communication.

Dr. Oakley has a special interest in exotic medicine and comes to IVS with great experience in emergency medicine.

When Dr. Oakley is not practicing medicine she enjoys running, swimming, and scuba diving.

When asked why she chose Veterinary Medicine she is quick to comment, 'I enjoy that Veterinary Medicine is such a diverse field that is ever growing and challenging. In this field I get to help the animals as well as the people who love them, which is a great feeling.'

Her most memorable experience thus far in practice is performing an emergency cesarean section on a Chihuahua and having 2 healthy pups and mother after it was done.

Dr. Oakley lives with her husband, Erik, and their two dogs, Jack, a Rhodesian Ridgeback and Guinness, a Lab/Shepherd mix.
